RODBENDERS April 06 NEWSLETTER
|
The club returned to Lake Cypress Springs on April 1st, and the lake didn't pull an April Fool's joke on too many anglers. Proving that all it needed was the return of grass for some healthy fish populations, this lake produced some great fish for the club. The top two team stringers will crack the all time Rodbenders Top ten team stringers, so saying that both of them came out of the same event is saying something! Jeff Cade and Tony South put the "spank" in the spanking they gave the rest of us with a stringer of 10 fish at 32.11 pounds! Martin Kralik and Jerry Evans (out of retirement) brought in an awesome stringer of 10 fish at 27.04 pounds, which would have won most of the events over the last several years -- but alas, it netted them second on this day. Bringing in a distant third and leading a pack of teams right behind them was the team of John Duhon and Nickie Melancon with 10 fish at 18.60 pounds. Big Bass of the event went to Jerry Evans with a 6.20 pound hawg. We had a great turnout with 34 anglers competing and bringing in 114 fish weighing in a total of 238.54 pounds, a 2.09 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. Apologies go out to the team of Mike Millender and Mark Surig, who came in fourth place with a 10 fish, 18.04 pound stringer -- they were not announced at the weigh in during the weight recap. Sorry guys! |
