Rodbenders ventured out to Lake Welsh, the power plant jewel, this past December 6^th to try to hit the lunkers just right.  The bass seemed to be in pre-spawn mode as we were about a week ahead of the full moon.  Many of the keepers seemed to be caught off the first or second break lines in 8 to 15 feet of water.  Crank baits, jigs, and some soft plastics seemed to be the winning patterns.  Taking first place this month was the team of Wayne Kralik and Darrel Thompson, with a 6 fish stringer at 22.73 pounds, blowing all the competition out of the water!  Wayne is only the second Rodbender ever to weigh a stringer of 5 over 18” fish from Welsh in an event.  In second place was the team of Riley Hamilton and Scotty Scott with 2 fish at 8.07 pounds.  Coming in third place was the boat of Martin Kralik and John Duhon, with 2 fish at 7.78 pounds.   Big bass of the event went to Tom Baxter with a 5.86 pound hawg.  Seventeen anglers total brought in 17 bass at 64.78 pounds, a 3.81 pound average.  Thanks to everyone for making the trip and congratulations to the winners.
