| This month the club tried to "beat the heat" by fishing a night tournament on Lake Fork. Although the overall results were poorer than usual for this trophy fishery, a few guys still "figured them out". Steve Kralik and Tim Hall both tied for big bass, with identical length lunkers at 23 3/4" in length! Both of these guys finished at the top of the hill, obviously with those quality kickers. Spinnerbaits and wacky worms seemed to be the predominant consistent producers this time around. Almost everyone reported a "dead period" between midnight and 4 AM where absolutely nothing was biting. Steve Kralik came in first place with a fine five fish at 29.73 pounds. Tim Hall was second with five fish at 21.53 pounds. Mike Millender was third with a respectable five fish limit at 15.30 pounds. Darrell Thompson made the most out of being in Steve's boat with 3 fish at 11.35 pounds. John Duhon came in fifth with three fish at 11.09 pounds, followed up by Jason Hill with four fish at 8.72 pounds in sixth place. We had a decent turnout with 20 anglers competing and bringing in 38 fish weighing in a total of 130.99 pounds, a 3.45 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We hope to see everyone next month at Lake Hawkins. |
