NEW HATS ARE IN!!!!!
Mike was able to get the new hats completed, so bring your
hat money to the next few meetings. Price will be about
$10.00 per hat. They look great and we really appreciate
Mike Millender taking care of the club and getting us some
quality head gear. ******
The club went to perennial favorite Cypress Springs for some night fishing action this past month. This was an all night tournament held for the first time in a while and the inclement weather reduced it to an exercise in survival techniques!!! Three major storm waves pounded the lake with lightning, hard rain, and gusty winds. Many of our tough guys brought some fish to the scales. Primary patterns appeared to be plenty of large gonads, crank baits, sinkos, and spinnerbaits. Taking first place this month was the team of Riley Hamilton and Cody Spoerl, with a 10 fish sack at 18.30 pounds. In a very close second place, we had the team of Mike Millender and Jason Hill with 10 fish at 15.91 pounds. Coming in third place was the team of James Cannon and Graham Wheeler, with 6 fish at 10.69 pounds. Big bass of the event went to Tim Hall with a 3.39 pound fish. Sixteen anglers total brought in 38 bass at 65.54 pounds, a 1.72 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We hope to see everyone next month at the next event of the 2007-2008 season, a night event on Lake Fork, August 2nd. Lake Fork is currently at full pool and the fish are getting into their typical summer patterns. Potential lunker time on the best lunker lake in Texas!!!! There are only two months remaining in our 2007-2008 season. Please bring up any bylaw changes and officer nominations to the next two meetings. Also, several anglers have already qualified for the annual Rodbenders Classic tournament. These guys include: Mike Millender, Jason Hill, Riley Hamilton, Cody Spoerl, Scotty Scott, Jerry Vaughan, and Jeff Flovin. On the bubble for qualifying are: James Cannon, David Gilmore, Tim Hall, Martin Kralik, John Duhon, and Jeff Cade. The field should be a good one and it’s normally a great time of the year to get on some fish. Good luck to the “bubble guys”… |
