The club venture East to Lake O' the Pines for our March 6th two-day tournament.  Saying that we caught Pines at the right time might be an understatement!!!  Although the week after the club fished it the lake record was broken by the first Share-Lunker ever caught from Pines!  That record was short-lived and was broken last week by another Share-Lunker!!!  The all time Rodbenders' record for team two-day weight was shattered by the winning team of Mike Millender and David Gilmore!!!!  Way to go guys!!!  So dominant was their total stringer that Mike's individual weight for the two days would have been second place overall had he fished alone!!!  Crank baits seemed to be the order of the day, whether lipless or lipped!  The higher placing teams reported traps and cranks as the best producers.  Mike Millender and David Gilmore put together a Day 1 10-fish stringer of 26.96 pounds with a Day 2 limit of 33.10 pounds for a two-day total of 60.06 pounds!!!!   Mike's biggest fish of the weekend was a 6.71 pound hawg, while David managed a huge 3.18 pound Kentucy bass that may well be the biggest Kentucky we've ever had weighed in!  Brian Lee decided to join us again and paired with Josh Eppler, they came in a very solid second place with 10 fish at 33.97 pounds!  Josh also crushed the Rodbenders Big Bass of the Year pot with a 8.42 pound massive hawg!!!   This obviously is the new Big Bass of the Year fish for 2010 and has set the bar very high for challengers.  Coming in a very close third was the team of  Wayne Kralik and Joe Singel with 11 fish at 31.14 pounds.  A big congrats goes out to junior angler Dalton Scott who has has weighed in consecutive tournaments...watch out guys, a ringer is in the making!!!  Sixteen anglers weighed in 69 bass at 197.15 pounds, a 2.86 pound average.  It should be noted that there were seven bass brought in over 5 pounds.  Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners.  Please welcome four anglers to our club  who formerly fished with another club in Plano - Mike Walls, Jimmy Arthur, Mike Begay, and Chance Frazier.   We look forward to fishing and competing with you guys in the near future!   We hope to see everyone next month at the next two events of the 2009-2010 season, Lake Winnsboro on April 10th and Lake Fork on April 17th.  Good luck to everyone at Winnsboro and Fork!!!
