RODBENDERS May 06 NEWSLETTER

The club  ventured to new waters in going to Lake  Tyler on  May 6th,  and I know of one team that will definitely vote it in again, no problem.  For those of you that missed it, I'm sure that Tony South and Jeff Cade had a day that they won't forget.  Two Rodbenders all-time records shattered like a hawg slamming a Chug Bug!  Another feat that may never be done again.  So, pay attention all you doubters!!!  (The following numbers are NOT a misprint!)  Jeff Cade and Tony South  showed us what the word "domination" meant as  they  smoked the all-time team stringer record for the club with 10 fish at  38.16 pounds!   Tony's individual 5 fish stringer was also an all-time best with a weight of 24.30 pounds!  Oh yeah, he also won Big Bass with a 6.35 pound fish!  Normally, when you see large individual stringers in events, there's usually one big fish in the stringer (8+), but not so for this one -- Tony had several fish that looked like twins!   Coming in a gallant second place was the newcomer team of Danny Burris and Phillip Drane with a sack of  9  fish at  21.17 pounds.  Bringing in third place was the team of  Mike Millender and  Jason Hill with  6  fish at  14.62 pounds.  We had  an  average turnout with  18  anglers competing and bringing in  46  fish weighing in a total of  114.50 pounds, a 2 .49 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners.    As an interesting side note, if you take Tony and Jeff's first place stringer from Cypress in April - 32.11 pounds and add it to their first place stringer in May at Tyler -- 38.16 pounds, you have a mark that I doubt we'll ever see broken....one team bringing in 70.27 pounds in consecutive events -- a 35 pound average!!!!!!    Way to go guys!  Congrats on a job well done!
