The club went north to Lake Texoma this past month to fish the turbid waters of the Red River impoundment. Strong winds in the early hours limited some anglers, but after mid-morning, the winds calmed some and allowed some running about without too many issues. The recent rains and subsequent run off in the lake no doubt affected the quality and quantity of fish brought to the scales. Primary patterns appeared to be small crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and finesse worms. Taking home the top prize of first place this month was Tim Hall and Jerry Vaughan, with a 6 fish stringer at 11.19 pounds. In a close second place, we had the team of Dan Harris and James Cannon with 4 fish at 10.74 pounds. Coming in third place was the team of Wayne “Speed Boat” Kralik and David Bickel, with 5 fish at 9.38 pounds. Big bass of the event went to Wayne Kralik with a 3.70 pound dock loving fish. Fourteen anglers total brought in 21 bass at 40.60 pounds, a 1.93 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We hope to see everyone next month at the next event of the 2007-2008 season, the East Texas jewel, Lake Tyler, June 7th. Tyler is currently at full pool and the bass should be feeding like crazy… |
