For our November 7th tournament, the club as a whole had a phenomenal day on Lake Welsh! It was one of those days that as a bass fisherman, you dream about -- the fish were aggressive and many bites were keeper bites, along with a host of 16-18 inchers. From conversations at the weigh in, it was estimated the 12 anglers competing caught in the ballpark of 500 fish among them! Heck of a day for all of the guys! The team of Wayne Kralik and Joe Singel had a day for the ages, putting 10 keepers (over 18") in the boat and catching solid fish all day long. The won first place going easily with 10 fish at 31.18 pounds, a top five all time team stringer in Rodbenders history. Coming in a respectable second place was the team of David Heideman and Derrick Scales with 3 fish at 10.56 pounds. Bringing in the third place stringer was James Cannon fishing solo with 2 bass at 8.42 pounds. Big bass of the event went to James Cannon with a 4.62 pound fish that didn't quite knock off Wayne's current big fish of the year. Twelve anglers brought in 20 bass (over 18 inches) at 66.54 pounds, a 3.33 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We hope to see everyone next month at the third event of the 2009-2010 season, Lake Monticello on December 5th. Good luck to everyone at Monticello! |
