The first tournament of our 2007-08 season was held at nearby Lake Ray Roberts on Saturday, October 6^th.  Jerry Vaughan blasted the field with the biggest fish weighed in a tournament in a long time.   He had a 9.15 pound huge fish to anchor his 13.32 pound stringer.  His big fish was the only fish weighed in over the slot, so the weights reflected a big dropoff after 1^st place.  Jerry also put the bar very high for big bass of the year.  An amazing stat was the number of anglers that brought in five fish limits to the scales.  In fact only 2 of the 19 competitors did not have a fish limit at Ray Bob.  Spinnerbaits, cranks, and finesse worms seemed to be the predominant patterns.  Nineteen anglers total brought in 87 bass at 77.22 pounds, a 0.89 pound average.  The first place prize was taken by the team of Jerry Vaughan and Tim Hall with 10 fish at 17.00 pounds.  Second place went to the team of John Duhon and Tom Baxter with 10 fish at 11.82 pounds.  Mike Millender and David Gilmore came in third with 10 fish at 9.83 pounds.   Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners.
