RODBENDERS September 05 NEWSLETTER
| Attached are the results after the August 27th tournament (SEPT event) at Lake Lavon. The Angler of the Year competition did not disappoint with a photo finish race for four anglers at Lake Lavon. Martin Kralik edged the guys out with a total score from his ten best events of 1143 points. Way to go Martin! Many congrats on another fine year, including 8 individual top 3 finishes out of 11 tournaments! Dave Jones gave it his all until the end, showing up with the only 5-fish stringer on Lavon and Dave was also the only guy in the club to weigh in at all 12 tournaments! In winning our other top yearly prize, Martin's 7.79 pound hawg from Lake Welsh is the Big Bass of the Year! Lake Lavon proved to be tough on our guys to catch keepers and to fight off the aggressive sand bass. Fifteen anglers brought in a total of 20 fish at 40.20 pounds - a 2.01 lb average. First place went to Martin Kralik and John Duhon with seven fish at 16.37 pounds. Coming in a decent second place was Dave Jones and Jason Hill with a 6 fish stringer that weighed 11.72 pounds. Third place was the team of Brian Lee and Matt Reed with 3 fish at 4.96 pounds. Big Bass of the event went to John Duhon with a 4.32 pound fish he caught off rip rap on a Texas rig. Thanks to everyone that made the hot trip to wet a line. Better luck to everyone next month at Lake Texoma, first time the club has been there (new water). Hopefully, we'll have decent participation at the St Jude's benefit tournament the next day on Texoma, it's a great event for a great cause. Good job guys. |
