RODBENDERS September 06 NEWSLETTER
| This month the club went north to the Oklahoma border to fish Texoma for the second time this season. The weigh in this time was much better. The prolonged drought continues to limit the lakes we can fish as a club! Wayne Kralik and Joe Singel came in like a hot wind from New Mexico and took first place with 5 fish at 11.03 pounds. The team of Martin Kralik and John Duhon came in a close second with four fish at 10.21 pounds. Third place was won by the team of Ken Cecil and Scott West with 2 fish at 7.81 pounds. Scott West took Big Bass honors for this event with a 5.56 pound hawg. There were 21 anglers competing and bringing in 27 fish weighing in a total of 60.17 pounds, a 2.23 pound average. Thanks to everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We hope to see everyone next month at Broken Bow Lake. |

The competition for
Rodbenders Angler of the Year was the closest finish
we have had in several years, maybe ever. Looking back over the
past four years, the margin of victory was about 30 points.
This year, the margin of victory is 6 points! Congratulations
are in order for Martin
Kralik for drafting Jason Hill most of the year and
having the best 10 tournament scores to win the crown again.
Way to go Martin, another Angler of the Year title! Jason
should be recognized for his consistency at weighin in keepers
at all 12 tournaments! It's also a great thing to see
six members fish all 12 tournaments, as we haven't
seen that in a while. Thanks to all of you for making it out
there every month. That's what makes the club great is having
a solid group of guys out there month after month. An
interesting stat we did is the average points per tournament
(not counting weight) for the top four finishers this year in
the club for the ten tournaments that were factored into the
scoring. The results were as follows: Martin - 97.4, Jason -
95.9, Mike - 94.1, and Riley 92.5. Another interesting fact is
that Martin led Jason in total weight by exactly 6 pounds!
More congratulations are in order for Steve Kralik for holding on to the 2006 Big Bass of the Year Award! Steve's "near death" monster from Hubbard stood the test of time and challenges to reign this year! Good job, Steve! |
