RODBENDERS January 2005 NEWSLETTER
| Attached are the results after the January 8th tournament at Lake Monticello. A cold, damp day greeted our anglers and proved to be uncomfortable for those that didn't bring enough clothes. The upper end of the lake seemed to be on post spawn, and a big influx of cold water from Sandlin knocked whatever spawners there were on the South end off the nests. So that left a bunch of guys playing bumper boats with other fishermen near the warm water discharge and under the railroad trestle. Eighteen competitors brought in a total of 35 fish (paper) at 99.29 pounds - a 2.84 lb average. First place went to Martin Kralik with a fine 5 fish stringer weighing 19.32 pounds. Coming in second place was Tim Hall with a nice 4 fish stringer that weighed 16.92 pounds. Points leader Dave Jones helped his cause by coming in third place with 5 fish at 14.38 pounds. Fourth place went to Jason Hill with 3 fish at 7.96. In fifth place was James Cannon with 3 fish at 7.36 pounds. Sixth place was Frank Hawkinson with 2 fish at 5.51 pounds. Big Bass of the event went to Tim Hall with a 7.99 pound fish (paper weight). Thanks to everyone who participated, we had 9 boats this event, keep the momentum going. Good job guys. |
