RODBENDERS July 2004 NEWSLETTER

Attached are the results after the July 10th night tournament at Lake Holbrook.  This little lake was very tough on the club as a whole this year, with the exception of two boats that had them figured out.  We need to hit up the winners at the next meeting for some indication of what the rest of us were doing wrong!  Thanks to everyone for a good late-season turnout.  We even had three alumni show up out of the blue to fish, have fun, take money, and buy hats!  A total of 15 fish were weighed in at a total of 33.94 pounds, a 2.20 lb average.  First place went to Tony South and Jeff Cade with a 5 fish, 13.32 pound stringer.  Coming in second place were Dave Jones and brother Danny Jones with a 4 fish, 7.67 pound sack. Third place went to the team of veterans Jerry Evans and Dino Francis, with 2 fish at 3.59 pounds.  Big Bass of the event went to Tony South with a solid 6.17 pound hawg that looked like it could challenge for big fish of the year.  Just when Jerry and Dino's name were going to come up on the ballot for the Rodbenders Hall of Fame, (mandatory waiting period) they come out of retirement and compete (and collect a check), therefore their waiting period starts over again!!!!!!!
