RODBENDERS MAY 2004 NEWSLETTER

Attached are the results after the May 1st tournament at Lake Hawkins.  Bad storms most of the night lingering past tournament start time  greeted our anglers this month at Lake Hawkins.  A few guys did manage to pattern some fish on crankbaits and rattle traps, at least that's what seemed to be the most consistent story at the scales.  Thanks to everyone, especially the new guys, for participating in spite of some not-too ideal conditions.  We had 17 competitors for this event.  A total of 21 fish were weighed in at a total of 41.31 pounds, a 1.97 lb average.  First place went to Wayne Kralik and Joe Singel with a 6 fish, 11.27 pound sack.  Finishing in second place was Martin Kralik and Mark Miller with a 5 fish, 9.21 pound stringer.  Coming in a close third place was Dave Jones and Josh Flores, with 4 fish at 8.43 pounds.  Big Bass of the event went to Dave Jones with a nice 3.69 pound fish that barely beat partner Josh's 3.29 pounder.  Martin's Big Bass from Cypress Springs has survived another challenge as Big Bass of the Year.
